Mowing back the summer growth across the grounds.
On Saturday, June 27, a handful of family volunteers gathered at Nameless Cemetery for a summer clean-up day.
After a very wet spring, and an already wet start to summer, the grass had gotten tall across the grounds. The crew spent the morning mowing, trimming, and clearing growth from around the markers and along the fence line.
Thank you to everyone who came out and helped get the cemetery looking so good: Mark Manley, Jerry Davis and Bessie Lunsford, Roger and Patty Bonnet, T.J. Bonnet, Dusty Bonnet, and Ann, Troy, and Carolyn Bonnet.
Special thanks to Courtenay Nichols and her hard-working crew from Nameless Services, who unexpectedly showed up to help. Nameless Services provides a wide range of quality septic solutions in Leander and the surrounding areas, and they will be helping us with cemetery upkeep going forward. What a blessing.
Caring for Nameless Cemetery is ongoing work. Every clean-up helps us preserve this place for the families buried here and for the generations who come to visit them.
If you would like to help with a future clean-up day, please keep an eye on our Events page and Facebook page, and join our mailing list for updates.
Another great way to help is by engaging with our Facebook page. Like, share, subscribe, forward our posts, and invite others to follow along and join the mailing list. Every bit helps us reach more of the families connected to this place.
Donations will also be an option soon. We are working to set up a donation portal and will share more once it is up and running.
